This past Wednesday, the Coding House group went to San Mateo to tour StrongLoop, a leading provider of Node.js solutions to enterprises. I was infectious with excitement finally touring a startup that uses one technology of the MEAN stack. It just seems like there aren’t many startups or enterprises using much of Node (yet!). Shubhra gave us a very thorough and technical overview introduction to LoopBack, an open-source API framework that uses…Node! I learned StrongLoop has all their stuff open source. Most firms make their money in closed-sourced material so I commend StrongLoop for doing what they do. We met with leading node.js contributor, Bert, co-founder Raymond and engineer one that I found that bears some similarity by Raymond. Here’s what I loved about the tour: StrongLoop has a certification program for Node developers. To quote:”distinguish themselves through validation of their knowledge and skills in developing web and mobile applications with Node.js.” I love what LoopBack is doing and how great would it be to have the breadth and depth in Node, to develop production-quality mobile and web applications? Here’s a link to the study guide for the certification test. If you’re a Node developer, look through it and start the path to becoming StrongLoop certified.
