I was following along this incredible tutorial on Rails on Friday. Firstly, you should familiarize yourself with Ruby and HTML – you will understand the information much more. It was very intriguing as to finally see how HTML and Ruby-on-Rails can go hand-in-hand and generally how the the Rails technology works. I know have some sense of how the web works after going through this tutorial. How did that dialog box appear? How do databases work? How does the site know that my post title should be more than five characters long? Go ahead and look at the guide to Rails. It should answer all the preceding questions in a way you never knew.
I think this is why I want to be a developer. It’s not enough that I should just use technology. I want to see the underlying details of technology and how it works. I want to be the guy who works behind the scenes and makes sure that, with my knowledge, applications and websites run smoothly. I suppose a good analogy would be my job as a theatre technician. I don’t want to be the person on stage, I want to the the technical support that helps run the main stage and ensure things go as expected. Ha, I hope that was a decent analogy.
