I will still focus mainly on programming. I actually don’t plan to take the two tests anytime soon but it would be a good certification to have as I do like working with tech hardware and this area has positions with demand for it. It’s not enough for me to use the numerous computers I have. I want to understand the underlying architecture that makes this tech-centric world operate. It’s not bad so far. I now know why 32 bit architecture is also referred to as x84, how a laser printer really works (pro-tip: it isn’t a laser that directly does the printing as I though) or what RAID is and the different setups. It would be cool to be a jack-of-all-trades sort of guy. Also will look into the Linux+ test as well. I wonder how many developers have certifications as well?
